Barcelona is the second-largest city in Spain and the capital of the state of Catalonia. It's located west of the Mediterranean Sea, where, along with the history, diverse civilizations have left their imprint and contributed to the formation of the Catalan identity. As a former nation of traders, Barcelona has been one of the main ports in the Mediterranean Sea and it has always been open to the world with constant exchanges of products and ideas. That's why, still today, Barcelona keeps its open-minded personality and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

This presentation invites you to dive into the historical roots of the Catalan capital. Layers of history will tell us what makes this European city "unique". We'll see some general facts about Barcelona, its historical background, and our expert will take us through plazas and alleys of two historical quarters: The Gothic and the Born, where the distinctive atmosphere still remains even today.

Led by a local expert on Barcelona and Catalonia history and art, Guille Genestar, this interactive conversation will talk about the city's history and will follow a suggestive itinerary that covers the main historical buildings. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with an increased interest in visiting (or revisiting) Barcelona and its splendorous heritage.

This conversation is suitable for all ages.

90 minutes, including a 30 minute Q&A.

I think the concept of virtual tours is very good. I have taken 4 now. One was outstanding - Doge's palace. The other 3 have been worthwhile but not outstanding.
