Join a historian for a sneak peak introduction into the treasures and treats of Dublin.

Learn about the highlights of a thousand-year-old city, from seeing where the Vikings landed to gazing at a 3,000-year-old gold necklace or understanding why the bones of St Valentine ended up in a small church in the city center. Whether you have visited Dublin before or have yet to come, this seminar offers a wonderful opportunity to touch on the true treasures that make Dublin magic.

We’ll hear about the door of reconciliation where a truce was declared between a gap in a 14th-century door. We’ll find out where the oldest manuscript (1500 years old) is hidden as one of the city's true gems. Most importantly, we’ll learn why Dubliners drink Guinness the way they do or which of the fine Whiskeys you should sample after a visit to St Patrick's Cathedral.

Led by an expert on all things Irish, Jennifer Carbery, this interactive seminar will aim to tempt, engage, and delight in Dublin's treasures. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with an enhanced view of what Dublin has to offer and a desire to visit.

Jennifer works with historical research around Ireland's complex history. She studied Anthropology and History as a mature student and upon completion she worked in Archaeology; digging the land for treasure. She has her own business providing research and content for historic sites, events, and radio. She teaches, assesses, and trains students, guides, and learners in history. She has written several apps for tours within Ireland.
