As much as I loved Andres and his manner of presentation, I think it was a little too much ground to cover in such a short time period. I know a little bit about French wine, and found it somewhat overwhelming, but someone who didn't know anything would likely not get very much out of it. I think it would be advisable to make it into a course, over 3-4 lectures or presentations.
It was so much fun for our whole family, parents and two young adults. Andres is obviously very knowledgeable in the subject and has a lot of carisma. We learned, drank and felt like in France! Will definitely do it again!
Andres had lofty goals for his French Wine discussion and he successfully achieved each one. It would be great to have five individual Conversations with Andres about each region he tackled last evening. A very fun and informative discussion.
Andres did a wonderful job of providing background of grape composition of flavors, regional dynamics of weather, soil and elevations where each grape can be grown. Tasting process was very helpful. I also liked the regional ranking process for wines.
Andres Medrano's broad knowledge about wine and French food culture will take you on an hour tour packed full of useful and fascinating facts. The presenter has great humour, and keeps an effective tempo in order to get a maximum of knowledge out to the audience. This class will leave you with a higher curiosity about the topic, and make wine consumption even more pleasurable :)
