He made the whole experience come alive. Highly recommended.
Having read about, studied, and questioned survivors in London and elsewhere about the Blitz, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this presentation.
I was simply spell-bound by Don Brown’s ability to cover so much History is so short a time, and his thorough knowledge of the places, maps, meanings and happenings during this period of British history. I didn’t want it to end!
I appreciate very much that much of what Mr. Brown discussed with us was new to me. I wish he had had time to mention the bomb disposal people who so bravely went into street, and even people’s gardens to defuse I exploded bombs.
All together a very informative, yet sad reminder of what the British did suffer during those terrible years.
I had recently read Eric Larsen book The Splendid and the Vile. It was better. I did not learn anything new from the Context lecture.
I have participated in every Conversation done by Don Brown. All have been fantastic —- organized, knowledgeable, informative, and personably presented. I would highly recommend anything Don does.
He was knowledgeable, well-prepared with anecdotes, excellent photographs and maps. I felt like I was there with him at times.
