Dr. Galante pitched her lecture well for both those with little knowledge of the subject and for those familiar yet seeking more detail. Her copious use of images truly made it feel like a tour of the site.
The use of diagrams, maps, and art inspired by that found in the Golden House made history come alive. Fascinating lecture about this site makes me want to return to Rome with Livia as my tour guide.
I am thoroughly impressed by Ms. Galante's command of her subject, which was complicated and fascinating, and her seamless delivery without hesitations, filler words, formulating thoughts in well-rehearsed sentences and complete paragraphs. I look forward to more Context Conversations with her.
Spirited and personal view of Nero’s Domus Aureus, what happened to it, and what it means for subsequent Roman art and architecture means for later periods. Wonderfully engaging. Brava!
Another really interesting talk with Context's Livia Galante, this time about Nero's remarkable home and its excavation, Domus Aurea. She's the best, so very enthusiastic, concise and knowledgeable, I enjoyed every minute. Looking forward to spending time with her to learn more about her work in Rome as an archeologist and fascinating lecturer.
