More than half the session was spent on preamble, some of it not directly linked to Pearl Harbor. Very superficial coverage on the Pearl Harbor raid
The pre-Pearl Harbor portion of the lecture was quite unorganized bouncing from topic to topic in an off-putting way. The discussion of Pearl Harbor was much better.
Poor. Inarticulate at times. Slides had factual inaccuracies and typos. Course advertised as being from Japanese perspective. It wasn’t. Worst Context course I have taken.
Richard Sperry provides a comprehensive overview of the background leading up to the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. With the 80th anniversary coming up next year, it is a timely introduction to the story of Pearl Harbor and the America's entry into WWII. Mr. Sperry's enthusiastic presentation, with excellent graphics and book recommendations makes one want to learn much more about the different "players" and theatres of WWII.
