Have you ever wondered which is the best bottle for your dinner party? Are sweet wines only for desserts? Can Champagne go with beef? Join Sommelier Cecilia Sitran to learn some easy food and wine pairing tricks that will open up new ways of enjoying wine at home and at restaurants.

In this seminar we will learn basic rules and general guidelines to create the best balance between foods and wines from all over the world. Our main goal will be to learn how to create a harmonic marriage between food and wine which will amplify the flavors of the meal. So, abandon the old approach of "red wine with red meat" and "white wine with fish" and let’s explore how cooking methods or marinades can influence the choice of a good bottle of wine.

Starting from lighter preparations, we will explore ideal wine matchings, going forward to first and second courses and ending with some desserts (and more wines)! There are many components to consider like textures, aromas, and ingredients but, don’t forget that wine is a JOY first of all, and pairings are subjective!

Led by a certified sommelier and food expert, Cecilia Sitran, this interactive seminar will be focused on ideal food and wine pairings. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with an increased interest and understanding of the amazing world of wines.

After her degree in Economics of Art and Culture at University of Venice, Cecilia Sitran studied for two years to obtain her diploma of Sommelier. She has worked in one of the most prestigious wine shops of Venice. She has also won a master in the South of France to learn about organic wines. She started a freelance sommelier career to able to share her venetian roots while tasting local wines surrounded by the beauty of Venice.
